Artists and attendants came from many of the surrounding communities, including Columbia City, Mishawaka, and Fort Wayne, as well as from other parts of the country.
Several different media were represented at the fair, from painting to photography, pottery to sculpture, jewelry, woodwork, and even furniture.
The application deadline for admission into the art fair passed at the end of February. Since then, an intense and thorough judging process has ensued, with a panel of jurors selecting the artists that would be included among this year’s exhibits.
Local artisan Merna Eisenbraun, a featured artist at the Canal Street Gallery, located at 805 East Canal Street, had some of her work on display at the art fair this afternoon. Her jewelry is made from copper, torched, heated and hammered into desired shapes. Featured at the Canal Street Gallery were Eisenbraun’s necklaces and earrings, along with some other pieces. She was also working on new pieces and demonstrating her methods for interested customers.
